What to include in a corporate video brief
A clear video brief helps separate what you already have from what needs to be filmed, written or produced.
Start with the viewer
Who will watch the film, and what should they understand or do next? A buyer introduction, website film and recruitment story need different structures.
List your source material
Identify available mobile footage, facility clips, product images, logos and company information. Note who owns the files and whether the people shown have approved their use.
Define the finished outputs
Agree the main film duration, aspect ratios, languages, captions, voiceover and shorter versions. A vertical reel is a separate editorial decision from cropping a landscape film.
Set the approval path
Nominate one person to consolidate feedback. Confirm who approves factual claims, visual direction, music and final versions. Separate edit corrections from changes to the story.
Ask for a written production scope
The quote should explain filming, travel, stock, voice, music, editing, review rounds and handover. Existing footage can reduce filming needs, but its quality still shapes the result.
